What is Esplugues ComVive?
Esplugues ComVive is a strategic project designed to protect, strengthen and revitalise local commerce. Its main objective is to consolidate commercial areas as reference spaces for social cohesion, coexistence and urban sustainability, counteracting the weakening of local commerce in the face of global consumer models.
Objectives
- Consolidate a local support network with stakeholders from the area to ensure the legitimacy and sustainability of the initiative.
- Co-create innovative solutions to revitalise local commerce alongside residents and retailers.
- Promote a culture of civic-mindedness, shared responsibility and conscious consumption through local commerce.
- Make the civic and aesthetic transformation of commercial areas visible and activate public spaces to turn them into welcoming spaces.
- Promote a sustainable logistics model and the use of the cycle logistics HUB and the “Km 0” model so that local commerce becomes more efficient and environmentally friendly.
The Ideal Neighbourhood
“The Ideal Neighbourhood” is an educational urban simulation video game created as part of the Esplugues ComVive 2030 project. In this interactive experience, the player takes on the role of a public-space manager, with the mission of building a balanced, vibrant and sustainable neighbourhood through five indicators representing commerce, sustainability, accessibility, coexistence and civic-mindedness.
